本席認為KJV是非常適合大眾閱讀的聖經版本,新國際版(NIV)的英文顯得過於簡單無味,KJV則是非常的經典。

欽定版聖經(King James Version of the Bible,簡稱KJV),是《聖經》的諸多英文版本之一,於1611年出版。欽定版聖經是由英王詹姆斯一世的命令下翻譯的,所以有些中文稱之為英王欽定版、詹姆士王譯本或英王詹姆士王譯本等。

欽定版聖經不僅影響了隨後的英文版聖經,對英語文學的影響也是很大的。為了讓更多未受良好教育的普通人也能知曉上帝的旨意,該部聖經一共的詞彙量只在8,000個常用的英文單詞,因此十分容易理解。一些著名作者,如約翰·本仁、 約翰·彌爾頓、赫爾曼·梅爾維爾、John Dryden及威廉·華茲華斯很明顯從這個版本的聖經中得到啟發。一些聖經如英語修訂版聖經(English Revised Version)、新美國標準版聖經(New American Standard Bible)、修訂標準版聖經(the Revised Standard Version),還有新欽定版聖經(New King James Version)等都是這個版本的修訂版。儘管新國際版聖經等其他版本的聖經沒有說它們是這個版本的修訂版,但是我們可以看出這些版本所受的深厚影響。

這個版本儘管常被說成是「權威版」(Authorised Version (AV))或者「權威標準版」(Authorised Standard Version (ASV)),但是它本身從來沒有被英國政府或者英國教會正式這樣承認過。在世界的很多地方,這個版本的版權已經過期了,但是在英國,由於「永久王家版權」(perpetual Crown copyright)的緣故,還是有版權的。雖然欽定版聖經已經年代久遠了,現在絕大部分仍然可以被普通讀者理解。 它也被認為是現代英語的基石,並從它誕生以來一直是被最廣泛閱讀的文獻之一。

hath 文言文中have的第三人稱單數;
文言英文的-s,常以-th或-eth表示。

creepeth = 文言中creep的複數型,這邊指會爬行的動物,一般翻作昆蟲解。

[26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

dominion = domination, rule, power, authority, mastery, sway, domain, dominance, sovereignty 統治權、管理權

[27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

文言用法
還原成白話為
in the image of God he created him; he created male and female.

or

in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
